Things looking up for BioDiesel Fueling department. U.S. Alternative Fuels and Advanced Vehicles Data has a map of all the BioDiesel Fueling Stations in America / Canada. It looks to us that if this continues to grow in the next few years, we ought to start seeing more and more freight haulers / commercial trucks converting! Wouldn’t that be something?

Thousands of new jobs created by alternative energy companies:
Blue-Green Action Alliance, a public policy partnership of the Sierra Club and the United Steelworkers, said 42,688 jobs could be created in the state for workers who would manufacture components for wind turbines, solar panels and other renewable energy equipment.Pennsylvania ranked sixth, with 2,188 such firms that could produce 19,588 jobs in wind power, 15,767 in solar, 3,911 in biomass and 3,402 in geothermal…..

A study released Tuesday says 35,133 new jobs could be brought to Wisconsin if the United States develops a national policy to invest in renewable energy……The Sierra Club, the United Steelworkers and the Milwaukee development group Good Jobs and Livable Neighborhoods commissioned the study, which was prepared by the Renewable Energy Policy Project think tank.

....how to best wean America off of foreign oil.... to show the breadth of the coalition pushing for a comprehensive federal green energy policy..... current ... regulatory system, ... divided among 50 different state public utility commissions, offers few incentives for utilities and transmission companies to invest in a smart grid..... the federal gov. might ....... create a set of standards ensuring the inter-operability of the smart grid.....Congress could repeal .... onerous environmental regs. that have tied up proposed energy projects for years.

Patents in wind, fuel cells, hydroelectric, tidal and geothermal were up in 2008 over 2007 with hydroelectric and tidal patents being at all time highs as depicted. In contrast, solar patents decreased slightly in 2008 and continued at a relatively steady pace since 2005. Hybrid/electric vehicle and biomass/biofuel energy patents also fell in 2008. Honda again claimed the Clean Energy Patent crown in 2008 ... and ... leads overall since 2002. Automobile companies occupy 5 of the top ten patent leader spots since 2002 with three more in the top 25. Fuel Cell manufacturers Plug Power, Ballard and United Tech also appear in the top ten patent owners. The remaining spots in the top ten are occupied by General Electric on ...wind patents (with...its solar technologies), and solar manufacturer Canon.
